“Krakow is one of my favorite places on earth. It is a medieval city full of young people. A wonderful, striking combination.” (Jonathan Carrol: USA Author)
Krakow is many things to many people; from international students to millions of tourists to conference delegates, ICE Krakow and incentive travel visitors.
A mythical, magnetic party city founded, according to legend, by the slaying of a dragon.
As you wander Krakow’s attractive backstreets and lively squares you may sense the mythical, medieval, atmosphere that hangs in the air. If you do you could be forgiven for believing a dragon was slain here.
Modern MICE visitors have much more than dragons to search out. For the culturally inclined there are Wawel Castle, soaring churches, impressive museums, Europe’s largest market square (Rynek Główny) and the former Jewish quarter. Krakow is also an artistic city and the old town a UNESCO heritage site.
While exploring the Jewish quarter and Old Town you may find hundreds of restaurants, bars and clubs. Krakow’s vibrant multi- cultural night life is, in part, driven by over 200,000 students. Students make up almost one third of the city and a good proportion come from all around the globe.
Krakow is possibly the best place in Poland to party.
However, there’s more to the former royal capital than history and nightlife. Fine dining on a budget is not a luxury in Krakow, it is normal. At last count there were over nineteen Michelin rated restaurants and not one will give your wallet heartburn. And, of course, local Polish food is not to be missed.
Should you want industrial, atmospheric, traditional or just one-off different gala dinner venues for your awards dinners, incentive travel or corporate events guests there are so many options. Most unique is probably the option to dine 300 meters underground in a rock salt cavern.
High speed rail and the ability to take a party on board in a privatised rail carriage allows Krakow to be paired with other Polish cities.
Alternatively you can take off to the beautiful Tatra Mountains; the city of Zakopane and enjoy mountain lakes and rivers. Great unspoilt nature reserves for all manner of team building and incentive fun activities.
ICE Krakow, completed 2014, is a high tech congress centre able to seat 2,000 pax in the auditorium and offers multi-functional flexible spaces along with an amazing number of breakout rooms.
