Win a bottle of something fizzy!

Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

Win champagneGTA has chosen Bollinger vintage for all past prize draws. We think Bollinger symbolises something special about GTA and our DMCs. Bollinger is not a champagne that looses taste as its sparkle fades – good taste runs deep and the wine has enough body to accompany food as well as fun and does not run out of taste when the bubbles have flown.

Our DMCs have taste and depth that lasts and are great company at any Event. We will be developing regular prize draw watch for our GTAwards emails.

Aims

Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

How we work is perhaps best summed by our business philosophy – GTA is – Small Enough to Care: Professional Enough to Matter: Focused Enough to Deliver.

Small enough to care

We control our growth in new DMC Partners in order to be able to absorb enough knowledge of the country so as to provide objective advice to UK Event Organisers. Controlling our growth also means that all of our DMC’s can be given high exposure in the UK Market

Professional enough to matter

We recognise that for Event Organisers the DMC service from point of enquiry to point of contracting is as important to their time management and reputation as is the delivery of the event itself to their ongoing success.

We do not step back once an enquiry is sent to our DMC’s. We aim to work alongside the UK Event Organiser from Event concept to Event completion acting as their resource/partner much the same as we do with our DMC partners. We provide a vital communication channel between all parties

Focused enough to deliver

We understand our limits to deliver a professional service. We accept that with two GTAssociates’ partners there are a maximum number of DMC partners that we can work effectively with. We now prefer to work with a DMC informally before considering formal representation. This allows us to acquire destination knowledge while establishing that the DMC’s working practices and service levels meet the standards GTAssociates require.

Lisbon Discovered – Have You Heard..

Saturday, January 12th, 2013

A secret  Lisbon revealed with secluded white sandy beaches, 5* design hotel and 4* Conference hotel. This area of Lisbon, a protected region and rural peninsula, is well known to Lisboans and certain famous sports people/wealthy individuals who own property here. Somehow the MICE market has missed learning of this great location and its facilities.

We only became aware of this region of Lisbon as the DMC we work with in Portugal proposed the Conference Hotel to meet a very difficult brief – a large number of rooms and very low B&B rate with early February availability. Competing agencies were unable to find a conference hotel venue for this brief- seems few venues finders in the UK know it exists.

Feeling intrigued and that we deserved a post Christmas break with a little sunshine we decided to update ourselves on Lisbon and take a closer look at the area and the conference hotel.

The hotels are about 40 to 60 minutes from central Lisbon/Lisbon airport depending on how you decide to travel. A shorter road journey followed by a 1 minute ferry crossing or the longer road route.

We discovered amazing connections to the UK dating back to the 1920′s when a British family/company extended the drainage in the area in order to develop rice production. Rice is still a significant crop but the British have moved on.

Most of the peninsula is rural, however, there are some great intimate restaurants and a number of large dinner venues, a casino, small harbour with bars/cafes/restaurants and there is always a ferry crossing to the local town which has more night life/dining options. And for local activity you have an international golf course, great clear blue sea, immense white sandy beaches, sailing and …..
